In December of 2022, the Diocese of Santa Rosa announced that it had looked into the possibility of declaring chapter 11 bankruptcy and that after months of careful and prayerful consideration, after having consulted the priests of the Diocese as well as the Diocesan Finance Council, andprofessionals retained by the Diocese, it was clear that such an action was necessary.
