[CHANCERY CLOSED DUE TO COVID]
Regular Hours:
Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Sat-Sun Closed
To all concerned:
These are challenging and difficult times for all of us. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we attempt to do all we can to assist you.
Because of local government restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Chancery is partially open to staff only. Most work from home and are allowed to work in the Chancery building on a limited basis. Therefore, responses to phone calls and emails may be delayed. If your comments do not require a response, know that we appreciate that you shared your concerns with us.
Be assured that Bishop Vasa cares deeply for his flock and is working diligently and prayerfully to shepherd all Catholics in the Diocese to help their spiritual life to flourish while keeping everyone as safe as possible. He is required, as is everyone, to abide by the mandates set forth by our government officials. The Bishop spends countless hours researching and communicating with others to determine the best courses of action to take.
The Bishop is in constant contact with the pastors of the Diocese. State, county and local government restrictions have forced many churches to close for indoor worship. Some parishes have outdoor or other options. Pastors that are able to open their church buildings do so by adhering to strict obligatory guidelines. As information concerning the spread of the Coronavirus changes, so do the rules. Contact your local parish website, office or pastor for information regarding your parish. Remember that no one is obliged to attend Mass on Sundays or Holy Days of Obligation at this time. Many Catholic resources are available such as on-line, on YouTube, and on television on EWTN.
Again, thank you for your patience and understanding. May God bless you and keep you safe.
REGARDING WEDDINGS: Congratulations on your impending nuptials! However, if you desire to contact a parish or mission about getting married there, you must contact the parish, not the diocesan curia.
SACRAMENTAL RECORDS: For baptism, First Communion, confirmation, marriage, or funeral records, contact the parish. If you write asking for those, we will simply respond that you need to do this.
To find a parish, use the button below the banner on our home page (left side). Almost all parishes have an e-mail address and most have websites. Regardless, the diocesan information page for each parish gives you a phone number and at least the name of a parish secretary, if not the wedding coordinator. Again, congratulations!
